1. The
purpose of the Kamloops Social Singles Club ("The Club") is to provide the
following:
a) social activities for
members; and,
b) a social network for members.
2. Any single person regardless of race, color, or religious and political
beliefs is eligible for membership. A single person is defined
as someone who is single, separated, divorced or widowed and not
living common law.
3. The guiding principal of the Club is Democracy. The majority rules. A
reasonable attempt must be made, prior to the meeting, to contact club members
regarding issues requiring a vote. If they cannot attend,
they may send a written vote in by proxy.
4. Yearly membership dues are required in order to become an active member of the club.
Only active members have the following privileges:
a) will be on the telephone list or contacted for activities.
b) have the right to vote.
c) have the right to run for executive positions.
d) have access to a membership telephone list; and
e) have the option of being on the public membership telephone list by
request, however, members will be on the executive list.
Memberships must be renewed every September.
5. The club has an executive board consisting of a chairperson, co-chairperson, secretary,
treasurer, activity co-ordinator and two
floating directors. Elections for all the positions will be held January of
each year for a term of six months with a further six months
option without an election.
6. The Club is a Non-Profit organization and is not to be used for personal gain. All club
monies are to be spent on club activities. Records and a financial
statement of each event must be kept and presented at the following
meeting. Costs incurred above the arranged amount must not exceed $100.00 without prior
approval.
7. Club financial records must be made available to any club member upon request.
8. The Club must hold one business meeting a month to state all club
business including financial status.
9. Misuse or abuse of Club funds, property or goodwill, or inappropriate
behavior, may be grounds to revoke club membership by a majority vote
of the entire membership after a reasonable attempt to contact the
membership has been made.
10. Any member of the executive board can be recalled under the following procedures:
a) a minimum of five active members, exclusive of the executive, can
request the recall.
b) dismissal of the executive member requires a majority vote of the
entire membership available
after reasonable attempt to contact the
membership has been made.
11. Any amendments of the Charter must be done by majority vote of the
entire membership that is available after reasonable attempt to contact
the membership has been made. |
